Smelly Shibas

After writing my last post, I believe I jinxed myself.

Today, as I glanced out the window to check on the two Shiba's in the back yard ... I noticed them both rolling on the ground.  Shubert, with his stunning white coat, all of a sudden had brown stains all over his neck. I had a hunch .. poop, but who's? Being completely curious, and brave might I add, I found I needed to know exactly what I was dealing with. I went out to have a look ... there was no poop left on the ground. I decided to sniff Shubert's neck and yes .. it was definitely poop ... but not dog poop!? So I am just going to assume that a neighborhood cat had a nice bathroom break in my yard, as thankfully my dogs don't tend to rub up in their own fesses. I guess Shubert didn't like his nice new shampoo smell, and needed a different identity.

If you are wondering why in the world Dogs will do this, here is a good read. Why Dogs Roll in Smelly Stuff
