Our Shiba's - Tomi

Tomi, Tomi, Tomi ... what can I say, he is a noodle head! I have had Tomi since he was a  young pup and he has always been a stubborn, loud little boy. But he is also one of my most beloved Shiba's. He is a fun loving, gentle boy with a great temperment and outgoing personalilty. He loves car rides, his toys and going for walks. He also likes to speak his mind and let's you know all about it. Tomi is a little bit smaller of a male but still has lots of time to grow. He has nice crisp black and tan markings, nice slantly eyes, and a gorgeous tail. I have Laura from Koyote Kennels to Thank for this amazing boy.

Our Shiba's - Kitty

Katherine Kai'ooti, aka Kitty, is a second generation Barrett's Shiba and another one of Winnie's daughters. She is out of our amazingly larger litter of 9 in 2011 (7 survived and 2 only lived a week). Kitty has a sweet personality and gets quite cuddly with 'her' people. She can get territorial around food and doesn't like to share her treats. She is also very strong headed and stubborn. Still a young teenager, she is very much a spoiled princess in our home. I am sure she will live up to her mothers name and be Queen of Shiba.

Picture Post - Ben and mckenzie

I just couldn't resist! I wanted to share some more photo's of Bentley and Mckenzie at 5 months old.
Ryan and Stephanie took such great pictures. Thanks you two for sharing these wonderful pictures.

Growing up fast.

Our Fall 2011litter is now 5months old. I have said this so many times before ... but I just love Shiba updates. It's nice to watch our pups grow. Thank you all for giving these pups such excellent homes and loving families.

Meet Misha. She lives with her family in Ontario.
'She is so curious and playful…a little stubborn but she’s taking to her training really well, and she’s certainly “training” us too!   Also, Misha is really quite athletic and enjoys running with us and is taking to playing “puppy soccer” quite well.'   -Cheryl

Meet Lola. She lives with her family in Saskatchewan.
'Lola is doing awesome!  We have enrolled her in puppy classes once a week.  She has learned sit, down and walking with distractions (nothing is perfect yet.)  Stay is a work in progress though!  She loves to play outside with the kids and to play fetch with myself and my husband. She is happy and healthy. I can no longer imagine life without her!  Thank you so much for our new little girl :D. '

Bentley and Mckenzie. Together, with their family in Alberta.
Mckenzie started growing very dependant on her brother Ben. She would pout and not play when he wasn't around. Ben has always done great. Sounds like a typical male Shiba to me! With a lot of work from their family, Mckenzie she is learning her indepence.

'We put them both in daycare 3 days a week at the beginning of March, with the dog park on off days.  We picked a daycare that is able to keep them separated during the day. Within 3 days we could tell that Mckenzie was drastically improving in terms of being away from Ben.  She would run off and play with other dogs and be by herself at home and at the park. It really helped.  She seems to be enjoying life more, like she gets insanely hyper for spurts at a time. It's great to see her have fun too. Ben is doing well, he's still significantly smaller than Mckenzie but he is healthy.' - Ryan

Jasmine is part of the Barrett Shiba pack and lives with us in Southern Alberta.
Jasmine is one of the most nonchalant Shiba pups I have ever raised. She can be aloof with everybody one minute or a complete lovable sack the next. Loves to play and do things on her own, but has no problem sharing her space and toys with others.
